In food news this week, maybe going vegan isn’t the most sustainable option for humanity?

In our What’s for Dinner? segment, Marisa’s making pureed broccoli cheese soup.

In our How’d You Make That? segment, we’ve got a recipe to recommend: Chickpea Dumplings in Curried Tomato Sauce.

After 16 weeks of sticking to a vegan diet to lower her cholesterol, Joy’s got an update on the plant-based diet is working out for her heart health.

And in What We’re Loving this week, it’s tempeh. Specifically, Philly Tempeh.

  1. Please ‼️‼️‼️Make your “E “ book on plant based diet. I am struggling and could use the help.

    I love your podcast‼️

  2. I would definitely get the ebook. I really love your podcast, I listen to it every week. Marissa – so glad to have you back!! And Joy, Congrats! on your 101 score. 🙂

  3. The broccoli soup sounds delicious. Since about December, I’ve been making a new (to me) soup recipe from cookbooks every week, which has been a really fun way to make winter more exciting. So far my favorite has been the bean, herb, and noodle soup from New Persian Kitchen – 3 kinds of beans, lentils, greens & pasta, it’s got it all! (Samin Nosrat also has a similar recipe on NYT Cooking.)

Joy, I would totally buy the ebook. I’ve eliminated eggs and introduced nutritional yeast & cashew cream into my life, but it’s still a gradual process, and I always appreciate new recipes and suggestions. Cooking is pretty easy, but going out with others is hard, as you’ve said. Especially brunch.

  4. After listening to your latest episode, I turned on the latest episode of Bon Appetit’s Foodcast. They’re raving about beans in general and Rancho Gordo in specific. They’re stealing ideas from you! 😉

  5. I would buy that E-book! I don’t have cholesterol issues at this point, but want to avoid them in the future, and am trying to eat more plant based for other reasons. I’d love to hear your thoughts and tips!

  6. Thanks for the show of interest! I really am working on it. I made a table of contents and everything 🙂 Stay tuned…
